A high-speed crash in Tampa’s historic Ybor City district claimed four lives and injured eleven others after a vehicle, fleeing police, plowed into a crowd outside a local bar. All 15 victims were adults enjoying their night when their lives were changed in an instant.

What Happened?
According to police reports, a 22-year-old man named Silas Sampson was allegedly fleeing police after being observed street racing. Florida Highway Patrol attempted a PIT maneuver, which failed. Officers disengaged the pursuit, but moments later, the driver lost control and drove into a group of people near a bar in Ybor City.

● Charges include vehicular homicide and aggravated fleeing
